The first film we ever made and what ended up being the catalyst for starting NORTHSOUTH studios a couple of years later. In 2014 we travelled half way across the world ride from Manali to Khardung La; a Himalayan mountain road made famous by it’s altitude and precarious nature. Claimed by many to be the highest and most dangerous motorable road in the world, the 515km stretch of road traverses numerous peaks above 5,000 metres and rarely dips below 3,800 metres. Built over 100 years ago by the Indian Army, the road is only open during the summer months, and even then is prone to constant landslides and motor vehicle accidents. Luckily for us, we made it through unscathed and managed to capture just a small fragment of the beauty of these wild mountain landscapes and the amazing people that inhabit them. We definitely didn't do it justice with this film but we had a hell of a lot of fun trying..
